Call for 2012 Award Nominations for the AMTA Illinois Chapter
Submission deadline: March 16, 2012 Awards Winners announced: April 20-22, 2012
Annual awards offer the opportunity to celebrate the outstanding work of massage therapists in Illinois. Now is your opportunity to nominate a candidate who has shown their dedication to the profession. Nominations are being accepted for the following awards:
Meritorious Award: Illinois Chapter: Open to AMTA members; for outstanding contribution to the massage therapy profession in Illinois deserving of recognition by the Chapter and at the AMTA National Convention.
Distinguished Service Award: Open to AMTA-IL Chapter volunteers; for outstanding volunteerism in furthering the Chapter mission during the past year.
Humanitarian Award: Open to any individual, group, organization or business; for outstanding use of massage therapy to relieve the suffering and promote the health of individuals or groups – performed in selfless service to the community reflecting the heart of the profession; may be volunteer work, a fundraising project, or selfless dedication to a particular group as part of a specialized massage therapy practice.
Outstanding Contribution to Massage in Integrative Health Care: Open to any individual, group, organization or business; for noteworthy achievement in promoting the use of massage in integrative health care; possible recipients: integrative clinics offering massage therapy, individual massage therapists working in integrative settings, sponsors or participants in research that advance the use of massage in integrative settings.
Employer of the Year: Open to employers of massage therapists; for offering massage therapists excellent working conditions, benefits, opportunities for career fulfillment; possible recipients: spas, clinics, hospitals, offices, and other businesses that employ massage therapists as regular employees.
Rookie of the Year: Open to massage therapists out of school for 1-2 years; for demonstrating outstanding accomplishment in creating a successful practice, contributing to the profession and community (e.g. outreach, volunteer), or otherwise exhibiting admirable professional behavior; possible recipients: new graduates who are working successfully in the profession.
